Ambiguus Tiles: Origami Rhombic Pyramid Tiles for Creating Dual-View Tile Mosaics
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract This statement presents a novel expressive medium that the authors call Ambiguus tiles, which construct dual-view tile mosaics. While similar to wall and surface mosaics made with conventional tiles can be assembled rearranged create in any size form. Fact vs. Fiction, letter sculpture composed of 115 is presented here as an example creative possibilities for using ready-to-use design material. As seen are particularly effective communicating social messages.

Tile Coding Based on Hyperplane Tiles
In large and continuous state-action spaces reinforcement learning heavily relies on function approximation techniques. Tile coding is a well-known function approximator that has been successfully applied to many reinforcement learning tasks. In this paper we introduce the hyperplane tile coding, in which the usual tiles are replaced by parameterized hyperplanes that approximate the action-valu...
متن کاملTechnical study of historical tiles of azure and yellow color Spectrum in mosaic and dual tiles
In Iranian architecture, colors were a powerful tool in design that, by using them correctly in decorations, added to the identity and impact of that space. One of the techniques of architects in decorating the space has been the use of complementary colors to create a proper harmony in the viewer's eyes. In this experimental-analytical study, CIE Lab analysis was used to quantitatively measu...
متن کاملArtificial Mosaics with Irregular Tiles Based on Gradient Vector Flow
Artificial mosaics can be generated making use of computational processes devoted to reproduce different artistic styles and related issues. One of the most challenging field is the generation of an artificial mosaic reproducing some ancient and well known techniques starting from any input image. In this paper we propose a mosaic generation approach based on gradient vector flow (GVF) properly...
متن کاملFlipping Tiles: Concentration Independent Coin Flips in Tile Self-Assembly
In this paper we introduce the robust coin flip problem in which one must design an abstract tile assembly system (aTAM system) whose terminal assemblies can be partitioned such that the final assembly lies within either partition with exactly probability 1/2, regardless of what relative concentration assignment is given to the tile types of the system. We show that robust coin flipping is poss...
متن کاملDNA Tiles, Wang Tiles and Combinators
In this paper we explore the relation between Wang Tiles and Schonfinkel Combinators in order to investigate Functional Combinators as an programming language for Self-assembly and DNA computing. We show: How any combinatorial program can be expressed in terms of Wang Tiles, and again, how any computation of the program fits into a grid of tiles of a suitable finite, tile set, and finally, how ...
